Enrichment Activity
Washington DC Auto Show
February 9, 2013
WHS has a number of students who are interested in the world of automobiles, both as a hobby and also as a profession. Washington DC's Auto Show gave us the perfect opportunity to encourage their passion and help them consider different job opportunities in the automotive field. What type of skills and training are necessary? What kind of jobs are available, and in what direction is the industry heading? And who said math isn't important!
In order for America to compete in the global car industry, they have to constantly reinvent themselves. Above and below are two newly redesigned staples of the American car industry: the Chevy Corvette and Ford Mustang.
"Look, and please touch!" was the motto of the show
Batman! The custom car industry continues to grow in America: artists wanted!
With all the electronic parts in cars these days, computers are a key piece to making a successful automobile. Not only do computers help make cars safer and improve gas mileage, but they can turn your car into a rolling light show!
It is safe to say our students were inspired by the machines we saw and the people who design, build, and maintain them. Work hard, follow your passion, and who knows - that could be your design at the next DC Auto Show!!
